Automated Guided Vehicles

Automated Guided Vehicles are increasingly being used to automate activities in greenhouses, production facilities or in the field. Sioux supports developers of these vehicles with smart software and mathware for control and operating systems.

Flexible platform for climate control

The customer’s challenge Priva operates in both the horticulture and the building market. Its goal is to serve these two markets with one combined product line. Priva carried out a project to make the next big step in combining its horticulture and building climate systems into a new architecture (FlexBox), thereby reusing as much of both hardware and software as possible. Sioux's contribution Sioux contributed via the assignment of multiple senior technical specialists with an extensive background in embedded systems, Linux and C/C++. These specialists work in Agile scrum teams, picking up a wide variety of tasks such as issue resolving, design and development and testing of new features. Result Priva has been able to shorten the time to market of its combined product line. They are very satisfied with the Sioux specialists’ valuable contribution, which demonstrates technological leadership based on knowledge and experience. Bird Control Aerolaser

The customer’s challenge The customer wanted to bring an app for automating bird control to the market. Users should be able to configure, schedule and control the Aerolaser systems at the airport on their tablets. The app should also show system statuses, such as battery, power, data statistics and scheduling logs. Sioux's contribution Sioux has developed the so-called Groundflex and Helipad apps to configure the Aerolaser systems through high-speed Bluetooth connection. Based on the chosen machine type, the app provides suitable layouts with predefined features and visualises the system’s real-time status. Sioux also created a web service and web viewer for collecting data from the Groundflex app on an Android tablet via the Internet connection. This provides administrators with a great overview of what is going on with their machine. Result Bird Control was able to bring to market a new proposition that results in considerable savings for their end customers’ labour budgets. The app has also provided them with access to new markets such as oilrigs and factory sites, due to the automated bird control feature. This has resulted in revenue growth in existing and new markets alike. Technology .NET/C#, Xamarin, Android, Bluetooth, Web API and Asp.NET MVC.

Pentair Hafmans Box Electronics

In-line turbidity meter

The customer’s challenge Pentair Haffmans wanted to develop an In-line Turbidity Meter comparable with their existing Off-line Turbidity Meter. Sioux's contribution Sioux was responsible for the total optical, mechanical, electronic and firmware design and realisation of the sensor. Sioux also handled the integration and testing of the sensor. After the prototype phase, Sioux provided Pentair Haffmans with support for embedding the In-line Turbidity Meter in their production and qualification processes. Result The In-line Turbidity Meter is available on the market and has been installed for several beverage brands all over the world. Technology Optics, fluorescence, laser, analogue front-end, FPGA, PCB layout, hygienic, contamination, robust and reliable.
